About
We run a home-service business on Housecall Pro. Everything here started as something we needed for our own book and could not buy.
Why this exists
We wanted to ask our own account straightforward questions: what did we invoice, which estimates are still waiting on a yes, why does the price book have four names for the same part. The API turned out to be capable and to behave in several ways nothing documented, and working that out took a great deal longer than it should have.
So the reference is the page we wanted to find, and the MCP is free because correctness is not something worth charging for. What we sell is the layer above it: skills that already know a whole job, and a hosted backend for what the public API cannot reach.
How we work
- Tested, not assumed. What we publish was checked against a real account. Where we have not checked something, the page says so. There are several pages here that admit exactly that, on purpose.
- Denominators before findings. "Nothing found" and "a third of the book was readable" are different results, and confusing them is how tools lose trust.
- The cheapest sufficient answer is the one we name. Where a free skill solves the problem, the reply says so, including when the answer is that none of this fits.

If something here contradicts their own documentation, they are the authority on their product, and we are simply reporting what a live account did.
