What a purchase licenses

A purchase grants a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use the files in what was bought, within one company, for that company's own Housecall Pro account or accounts. Everyone who works for that company may use them. There is no per-seat count and no activation.

The licence does not permit:

• Reselling, sublicensing or redistributing the files, modified or not.
• Publishing them anywhere they can be downloaded by people who did not buy them.
• Operating them as a service for other companies' Housecall Pro accounts. Running them against the accounts of companies you own or control is fine; running them for clients is not, and that arrangement is a separate conversation.

The files are not copy-protected and carry no licence key. That is a deliberate choice: a protection scheme that inconveniences a paying customer to slow down someone who was never going to pay is a bad trade. It is a statement about enforcement cost, not about permission.

Updates are included

Every purchase includes all future updates to what was bought, at no further cost, for as long as that product is maintained. A pack that gains a skill later includes it. Prices may rise for new buyers; a completed purchase is not repriced.

Lifetime purchases cover: every pack on the shelf today, and every new skill added to any of them afterwards, for as long as the line runs. Lifetime covers skills. Credits and the hosted MCP subscription are separate. The credits section below is that separate product's terms.

A product can reach the end of its useful life, usually because Housecall Pro removes what it depended on. If that happens the files already delivered keep working for as long as they work, and no further updates are promised for that product. Nothing is withdrawn from a machine it is already installed on.

Credits and the hosted MCP subscription

Equipment Intelligence is sold as a monthly subscription, and these clauses apply to it in place of the file-licence clauses above:

• The subscription grants a stated number of credits each month. The number, the price, and what each lookup costs in credits are the ones published on the product page on the day you subscribe.
• Credits reset each billing cycle. They do not roll over, and they have no cash value.
• Failed lookups are free. A lookup that returns no answer is not charged. Free misses and total call volume sit behind rate limits, which exist so the service stays available to every subscriber; hitting one answers with a plain wait message, never a silent failure.
• Your API key revokes on cancellation. The key is issued through the payment provider's customer portal when you subscribe and revokes automatically when the subscription ends. Unused credits end with it. Subscribing again issues a fresh key.
• Lifetime covers skills. Credits and the hosted MCP subscription are separate. A lifetime purchase neither includes nor discounts this subscription.
• A Housecall Pro API key optionally supplied to the hosted MCP is used per request and never stored; the privacy page covers what is and is not kept.

Refunds

A purchase that does not earn its price on your book is refunded on request within 60 days. No justification is required beyond saying so. Email hello@hcpapi.com from the address that bought it.

A refund ends the licence to the files it covered, though there is no mechanism to remove them, and none will be attempted. This clause exists so the position is stated, not because anything enforces it.

What the software does, and what it is not warranted to do

The skills read a Housecall Pro account through the free MCP with an API key you generate, or read files you export from the dashboard yourself. Some of them also write to the account. Every write is shown in full and confirmed individually before it is made.

Approving a change is your decision, and the consequences of an approved change are yours. The software is built to make a mistake visible before it happens rather than after, but it cannot know that a customer should not be contacted, that a price is wrong for a particular job, or that a record was deliberately left as it is. Read what is presented before approving it.

The files are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, total liability arising from a purchase is limited to the amount paid for it, and there is no liability for indirect or consequential loss, including lost revenue or lost data.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Housecall Pro is a third party

Housecall Pro controls its own API, its plan tiers, which exports each plan offers, and what any of them return. Those can change without notice, and a change can stop a skill from working. Updates address that where an update can. Where Housecall Pro removes a capability outright, no update can restore it.

Which plan carries API access, and which exports a given plan offers, is Housecall Pro's decision. Availability stated on this site was observed on a MAX-plan account and is not a commitment on their behalf.

The email list

Buying does not subscribe you to anything. The list is separate, opt-in, and carries the free skill plus release notes. Unsubscribing does not affect a purchase or its updates. What is collected is on the privacy page.

Assignment

Zoe Grove LLC may assign these terms, and the obligations in them, to an affiliate or to a successor in connection with a reorganisation or a sale of the hcpapi product line. Your licence and your included updates carry across unchanged. You may not assign your licence except with the business it was bought for, in which case it transfers with that business.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change for future purchases. The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones published on the day it was made, and a later revision does not reduce what an earlier buyer was promised. The date at the top of this page is when it last changed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts sitting in New York.
