Tag Rules
State a tagging rule in plain English and it applies across the book in one reviewed pass, then reports where your tagging has drifted.
The problem
Tags start as a good idea and drift. Two people invent slightly different names for the same thing, a rule everyone agreed to gets applied for a month, and a year later the tags tell you very little.
The rule itself is perfectly clear. Applying it across ten thousand jobs by hand is what never happens.
What it gives you
- State a rule in plain English and it applies across the book in one reviewed pass.
- Jobs missing a tag your own rule says they should carry.
- Near-duplicate and barely-used tags worth consolidating.
- Who is actually using which tag.
What you need
| Tier | API Key Required |
|---|---|
| Reads | The MCP |
| Needs | The free MCP plus a Housecall Pro MAX-plan API key you generate. Applying changes needs a full-access key. |
| Re-run | Whenever you add a rule, then quarterly for drift. |
This one makes changes
Makes changes, one confirmation at a time.
Every change is confirmed individually with the before and after shown. There are no batch approvals, because on a live book that is how a small mistake becomes a large one.
Your first ask
Once it is installed, this is the literal thing you type:
What it cannot do
- It writes, so each change is confirmed individually with the before and after shown.
- Tags can never be deleted through Housecall Pro's API. Create and rename only. Deleting is an interface action, and Housecall Pro warns that it erases the tag from historical records too. So consolidation produces a worklist rather than doing it for you. That is a limit of their API, not of this tool.
- Requires the MCP and a MAX-plan API key. Applying changes needs a full-access key.
Updates
Every purchase includes all future updates to this skill. Your book decays continuously, so the same job is worth doing again, and each version gets better at it.
The skill checks this site for a newer version when it runs. That request carries the product name and the installed version, and nothing else. There are no account details, no data from your book, no telemetry of any kind. If the check fails for any reason it says nothing and carries on.
Buying it
Sold in the Set Up & Clean pack: $49 one time at half price while the shelf is new for all 4 skills in it. The pack is the unit because a home service company that needs this one usually needs the rest of it the same week. What is in the pack. Lifetime is $149 and covers every pack on the shelf plus every skill added to any of them afterwards.
